As I sit at my desk writing in this journal I am also gearing up for another road trip. After all, summer is finally here. Now with that being said...what's more summertime fun than BBQ's and Loverboy shows? Oh wait, perhaps I should rephrase that...What's more summertime fun than Reese Cups and Loverboy shows? Truly and I kid you not, they are my two most favorite things.
 
I'm sure by now everyone has seen the new Reese Cup commercial featuring the music of our favorite rock band.  What? You haven't seen it yet? I first saw it on Mothers Day. If you have a FaceBook account and you haven't seen it yet, you can can watch it HERE right now.
 
Loverboy has been very busy this year. We congratulate them for being inducted in the Canadian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year and for their awesome performance at the 2010 Olympics. We as fans are so lucky these guys are still out there doing what they do best and sounding as great as they did back in 1980. Which takes me back to my original thought..my road trip this summer to see them LIVE once again. This time Kelly and I will be in California for the Redding and the Santa Cruz shows and we can't wait. The final countdown has already begun. 

OK, So now that I finally had some time to collect my thoughts for this posting I really want to thank everyone who has participated in the growth of the Loverboy Fan Club website. A special "Thank you" goes out to Ron Sombilon for allowing us to interview him. In case you are wondering who he is, Ron is the artist behind the new Loverboy Art Work and a really nice guy. You can purchase the art work through the new Loverboy Boutique. Proceeds are donated to JDRF to continue to help find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.

I want to thank EVERYONE for sharing their Loverboy experiences with us. We wouldn't be here without you guys. So far this year 'LFC Live" has been to Vancouver, BC, Mainstee, MI., and Norfolk, NE. So many fantastic new photos were posted in the Fan Zone as fans and photographers from Texas to Vancouver sent in their shots. Truth is we got off to a great start when Brian shared his New Years Eve show with us and well ... it's just been a great year for Loverboy and their fans! Just think we still have half the year to go!  We hope to have lots more Loverboy for you guys!

Summer may be over but the show must go on. LFC will be heading to Oregon to catch the two Loverboy shows at the Chinook Winds Casino at the end of October and we are so excited. There's nothing like a road trip to kick off the fall season...the changes in the weather, the cool new colors of the trees, throw in a couple of Loverboy shows and wow!!! Look out Oregon...here we come.

It's been a busy summer for us though. We had lots of fans send in their photos from various summer Loverboy shows and it all can be seen in the Fan Zone. We posted lots of new and exciting Featured Moment photos and created an archive so you never have to miss a shot.

Several fans elected to share their Loverboy experience by submitting a concert review along with their photos to be featured in the LFC Live portion of the website. We thank them so much. LFC Live has grown because of them and it is now filled with great stories and fabulous slideshows.

Yes is was a grand slam summer for sure and I want to thank everyone who shared their Loverboy fun with us. Without you guys there would be no fan club. I also want to thank all our new followers on Twitter. You guys rock!

One of my favorite summer pastimes is to spend as much time as possible outside. My indulgence of sitting (or standing) at an amphitheater or a park watching a concert is perhaps my favorite pastime of all. Summer officially starts June 21 and so I find myself giving into my indulgence.  6/27+ Loverboy+Elitch Gardens=YAY!!! I am so excited I can hardly wait. If you are like me and have a passion for concerts on a cool summer night then I will be sure to share my next Loverboy experience with you. After all that is our mission here at LFC... ~All Loverboy... All The Time!~

Those words may seem trivial to you, but we see them as a nutshell definition of what we're about. Our commitment to our slogan is more than just words. We have been pretty busy at LFC the last two months trying to bring you as much Loverboy as we can. We had a new Featured Moment photo of Paul and a caption contest to go along with it. Congratulations to Marti S. and Nancy S. for being the winners. 

We also showcased a fabulous fan video of "It's Your Life" last month and I want to thank all of you for emailing us to tell us what a special treat it was. Pay special attention to your toolbar alerts, we have a lot more in store for all you guys!  But right now I am excited this month to introduced the NEW Loverboy Fan Club Live page. This is where we keep you up-to-date on all the shows we are lucky enough to attend. Read either Kelly's Korner or Michele's Musings for blow-by-blow descriptions of the shows.

So on LFC  LIVE...First page, first up... Henderson, Nevada, May 30th, featuring Kelly's Korner where she tells all. While you're there don't miss the fantastic slide show. It is loaded with some pretty amazing pictures. Kelly did one helluva job!

I'm laughing at myself today as I write this, because I am fidgeting at my desk having a not-in-the-moment moment as I attempt to direct you to our new Featured Moment photo. My mind is racing at warped speed. That usually happens when I get excited and I have to say I am excited today for several reasons. So I'll take a break, a moment if you will, add a few deep breaths and remind myself to stay focused on one thing at a time.

First we have a really cool Featured Moment Picture. We thought it would be fun this time around to have the fans add the caption. So go check it out and tell me if you don't think it's frickin awesome. Secondly I am excited because my partner-in-crime is in Nevada and had a blast at Loverboy's show last night.  To use her words...It KICKED-ASS!  We can all look forward to some pictures and her review soon. Where else but at the Loverboy Fan Club..we are "All Loverboy, All The Time!"

Last but not least the countdown to MY next show has begun.  LOL, is it any wonder I'm finding it hard to concentrate! My excitement is already building. Only 27 more days to go! Again I need to remind myself to take a moment, let it all in and just breathe. As always we would love to hear your ideas and thoughts about LFC.

Someone asked me this week "What can you do to make life sweeter?" He wasn't talking about a double chocolate fudge brownie or a piece of homemade cherry pie, (although in my book that would work really well) but rather what truly lights our fires.

My initial thoughts went to life's simple pleasures, like listening to music, playing with my cats or taking a long walk with friends and yes Kelly tumble weeding!!! LOL. But as I let the thought dance around my head for a while I began to wonder about what would really make life sweeter right now not just for me but also for Loverboy fans as well.

So I thought..... How about a Loverboy concert? Now that’s SWEET!

Unfortunately for me, my next Loverboy show isn't until June and I tell you that seems like a lifetime away still. So since most of us just can’t get up and go to a show whenever we feel like it, I am pleased to let everyone know we just posted a fantastic, never before seen fan video of Loverboy. Ok I know its not the same as being there but….it’s still as sweet as can be.

The video was shot in Florida at Walt Disney World. All I have to say is…Move over Mickey Mouse... LOVERBOY is in the house!

It might seem small but I think a Loverboy video is a significant way to sweeten your life. And with that said….
It's your life... so check it out!

You don't have to be a fan of baseball but it can be pretty hard to ignore the crack of the bat and the cheering of the crowds that ring out across baseball fields these days. It's a sure sign that spring and the baseball season is upon us. Time for nachos, pizza and stadium hotdogs. My thoughts turn to baseball, one, because I am a fan, and two, much like baseball each posting we make on the LFC website is like the world series of baseball to us. We may not always hit a homerun, but we try. We work hard as a team to make the play, to give you your tickets worth, and hopefully offer you something more to eat than hotdogs.

This time around I think we hit a grand slam. We have something absolutely delicious. We'll skip the entree and go straight to dessert! We have a fabulous one of a kind, never seen before, fantastic fan video coming at you. I can't tell you what song is featured on the video but I will say it's one you don't hear at every show.  This rockin' video sure beats pizza anytime!

Wow, what a busy week again. In our efforts to keep the Loverboy Fan Club website new and fresh we've developed the Loverboy Fan Club Toolbar. As always when trying something new and different it can be scary but it’s also exciting and revealing. It tests not only our mettle and our dedication to this site but our determination to make this the best Fan site ever!

Our new toolbar is our way for fans to stay connected. Get the latest updates and alerts instantly no matter where you are. There is access to emails, gadgets, social networks, local weather and so much more. There's even a private chat room strictly for Loverboy fans to talk about..... yep you guessed it...LOVERBOY.. everyone's favorite band LOL.  The best part though, the tool bar is totally customizable to each individual’s preferences. In other news...now that the toolbar project is over, I felt the need to relax before beginning something new so I decided I to clear my head. I spent this morning on a photo shoot of the stunning Colorado Mountain Vistas. Nothing is more expressive and peaceful as the snow capped mountains or a full curled Ram majestically standing on top of a cliff. Being over 10,000 feet in elevaton, breathing the crisp clean air really helps to put things into perspective. I found myself inspired and energized again.
 

                                                        Now I am ready to go to work!
